This piece was an attempt to visually represent the many personalities we all have within us. What we perceive as “I” is actually a vast and intricate tapestry of personas. Which version of ourselves presents to the outside world is a product of our own awareness and the many external forces that distract us and cause us to be reactive. We are not confined to a singular self, we are ever-evolving and multifaceted beings. As we grow & learn, we adapt and transform, revealing different versions of ourselves in the various chapters of our lives. There is the tender vulnerability that seeks solace in solitude, the resilient warrior that battles through adversity, the compassionate listener who lends an empathetic ear, the angry reactive who is actually just hungry, the over opinionated asshole who is actually just drunk and insecure. We carry within us the dreamer, the pragmatist, the artist, the scientist, and countless other versions of ourselves that shape our experiences and interactions with the world. It is in the infinite dance of these diverse selves that our truest essence emerges, and life is experienced.

The more I become aware of this constantly changing nature of what I consider to be “I”, the more patience, acceptance and love I am able to have not only for myself, but also for others. We are all much more alike than we are different. We are all capable of failure and success. We are all changing all the time. Let’s be patient and accepting and loving towards one another!
